The Illinois fishing license can be purchased by individuals who write a book about fishing in Illinois, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced Friday.
The department will issue the license to anyone who signs the contract and signs a contract stating they will purchase the license, according to a news release.
The state requires license applicants to provide a written biography of themselves and their profession, the release said.
The agency also requires that license applicants demonstrate a degree of proficiency in the skills they are seeking.
The application form and fee are available at https://www.dohr.il.gov/licensing/fishlicense.aspx.
The application fee is $65.
The process is completed by mail, the department said.
The department also offers a $10 discount on the license fee for anyone who has never written a book.
